Dancing:

Please consider learning to dance.  You will have lots of fun, and dancing boosts your confidence in social situations.

Ithaca has many, many restaurants.   You can search for specific cuisines at the Visit Ithaca website.  Once you've located a restaurant, you can browse Menus of Ithaca Restaurants, as well as restaurant reviews at Ithaca Restaurant Review and 14850 Dining


We favor ones with good food and moderate prices.   Here are some of our favorites, in no particular order:

How to Find Out About Ithaca-Area Events:

Ithaca has an incredible range of activities - and the best way to find out about them is to read the Ithaca Journal (the daily newspaper), and the Ithaca Times (a free weekly paper you'll find all over town). 

Each paper creates its own weekly compilation of activities and happenings:

Events in Syracuse (Good excuses for a Road Trip):

Syracuse has lots of restaurants, musical and cultural events, and special festivals that are often well worth the hour drive up north.  The downtown architecture is also spectacular.   Check out:
  • Armory Square (four-block restored area of restaurants, specialty shops, and the MOST science museum (which has an IMAX theatre)
Regarding restaurants - while Ithaca has more and better Asian restaurants,  Syracuse far surpasses it in European  restaurants and delis (German, Polish, Italian, and Ukrainian),  and they have  two Irish bars (Coleman's and Kitty Hoynes) that are worth visiting at any time of the day.  Here is a sampling: Finally, don't forget Syracuse's  famed Dinosaur Barbecue, wonderful 'cue at reasonable prices & an atmosphere that takes your mind off the world...
